What do I need to do BEFORE I start entering trials?

Before you start adding legs to your trials you will need to set the titles for your dogs. The titles can be set and reset as you need. When you set a title for a dog the list of legs available for that dog will be determined by the titles you have set. This feature is so you don't have to have ALL your legs entered into the Agility JOT database in order to start adding legs according to the titles your dog has. Let's explain this with an example. Say you already have your AKC Open Standard title and you want to be able to start entering Trials with legs in Excellent-A Standard. In order to do this you will need to start from the 'My Dogs' Page click on the 'View Titles' icon in the row for that particular dog. Then in the AKC row select the 'Set Title' icon , next select the OA title in the STD row and finally click 'Update' at the bottom of the page. Now you are ready to add legs to your trials!

Click on the add icon for the day you want to add your trial for. Then fill in the information about that trial and click the Create button at the bottom of the page. Then you can add legs to your trials!

How do I enter the USDAA AAD title if I did not get all 4 of the non-standard titles before moving up to Masters?

The AAD title requires ASA title and 1 qualifying leg in each of the Advanced Nonstandard classes. So the ASA title needs to be set on the titles page for a particular dog AND four Qualifying legs need to be entered for a particular dogs trial entries. If you don't have all the information for the four legs then you can create a fake Event and enter the four legs and set them each to Qualified. Then you sill see the AAD title on the title page and on the My Dogs page... and anywhere else the titles show up!

How do I add pictures of my dog?

Go to 'My Dogs' and click on the camera icon for the dog you want to add pictures for. This will take you to a page for adding pictures for this dog. You then browse on your computer for the pictures you want to add and click on 'Save image on website'. After you add several pictures you can then select which one you would like to be the primary image. The primary image is the picture that will be used throughout the website to represent that dog in a thumbnail size. Next to each picture is a 'Set as Primary' link, by clicking that picture will then become the primary picture.

Can I print an Entry Form?

Yes! From the Trial Entry page there is an option list of actions you can make on this trial. Click on the 'Print Entry Form' icon to bring up the entry form for this Trial with all the information for this trial entered. Make sure you have added all the legs you plan to run in so they will show up on the form. Then from the form page print the page making sure you set the printer up to print in landscape mode. In addition, you want to make sure you have updated your address information in 'My Account' -> 'Edit your information' so that address information will also show up on the form, assuming of course that you are the dog's owner. Otherwise that information will come from the owner you have defined within Agility JOT and assigned to this particular dog.

Do I have to enter all my trials in order to track my trials?

No! If you have past trials which you don't care about all the details associated with each then you can go to the "Titles Working Toward" Page and set the number of Qs, double-Qs and points a certain dog has acquired for a particular title and you will see those numbers reflected on the Page. If you are entering for a venue that calculates according to qualifying points (i.e. NADAC or ASCA) make sure you put the total of qualifying points you have in the points field. You obviously won't be able to see all the nitty-gritty details but you will be able to continue the tracking of your titles without having to painstakingly put in all that past information.

Does the program keep track of MACH points and double Qs? If so, how do I access this info.? Do I have to enter it myself?

Yes. Agility JOT tracks MACH points and double Qs. For AKC MACH points as long as you input the dogs time, standard course time and dogs placement for each trial the MACH points will be calculated automatically. If however, you know how many MACH points you have at a certain point you can also have those inputted without inputting EACH of your trials. This can be done from the 'Titles Working Toward' page. The column titled 'Previously Qualified Legs' there is an icon which you can click on which will take you to a page where you can enter the points and number of qualifying scores your dog has WITHOUT entering those legs individually. All information about the titles your dog in "working toward" can be obtained from the 'Titles Working Toward' page. From this page you can see all the courses run to date, the total qualifying runs or double qualifying runs (where appropriate), the qualifying runs required, the points achieved and the points required. To get to the 'Titles Working Toward' page go to 'My Dogs' from the left-hand-menu then click on the 'Working Titles' icon from the dog you wish to track your titles for.

How do I take a trial off my calendar?

From the Calendar click on the Trial you wish to remove. This will take you to the screen with that trial and the options for working with it. The last icon in the options column is the 'Delete Trial' icon. Click on it and you will be prompted are you sure you want to remove this trial. Click yes, and the trial will be removed.

If I go ahead and pay BEFORE my 30-day free trial is up will I lose the 30-days?

You will KEEP your free 30-days! When you registered for an account Agility JOT set your expiration date 30 days from the day you registered. So when you upgrade your account it will add one year to your expiration date. Therefore you will NOT lose your 30-days.

How do I make sure my trials are getting automatically added from Lynda Tjarks Agility Productions?

If you do not run trials with Lynda Tjarks then this does not apply to you. However, if you run trials with Lynda Tjarks it is now possible to have those trials show up on your Agility JOT account automatically. The following is what you need to do in order to activate this new feature.

  • Make sure you use the same e-mail account for both websites.
  • All dog's registration numbers and titles must match.
  • Turn on the feature in Agility JOT. In order to do this go to 'My Account' ->'Update your Account' and click the box to allow automatic trials.
There are two ways the trials get transferred over. The first way is through a purchase of trials. As long as the above is true; when you purchase, your trials will automatically show up in Agility JOT. The second way is by adding the trials you want to your shopping cart on Lynda's website. Then from the shopping cart there is a button on the top right-hand-side titled 'Send to Agility JOT'. When you click this button the trials in your shopping cart will be sent to your Agility JOT account. Voila! If you have trouble with this feature please send e-mail to Agility JOT immediately!

Get my dog to show as a "Todays Dog"?

From "My Account" -> "Update your Account" make sure the box for "Allow your dogs to be featured." is checked. In addition to this make sure your dog is set 'Active.' In order to do this go to "My Dogs" and for each dog click on the edit dog icon and at the bottom of the page set the Active field to Yes. As long as these settings are set your dog will be selected along with all other dogs by random for each new day!

When I enter a qualifying leg for a trial and indicate that a title was earned, is it supposed to automatically update the information in the "titles earned" list?

No, it does not automatically update your title informaiton. You do need to add the title manually. The reason to check that a title was earned is to track the actual leg the title was earned for.

how do I add a q?

There are two ways to do this. 1. If you have entered a trial and added the runs then for the run you have a qualifying score you set the Q field to Yes. 2. If you have a dog with titles and qualifying runs which you do not want to enter into Agility JOT but want to be able to track previously acquired qualifying legs. Then from the 'Titles Working Toward' page. The column titled 'Previously Qualified Legs' there is an icon which you can click on which will take you to a page where you can enter the number of qualifying scores your dog has WITHOUT entering those legs individually. To get to the 'Titles Working Toward' page go to 'My Dogs' from the left-hand-menu then click on the 'Working Titles' icon from the dog you wish to track your titles for.
